OUR MISSION
WHO WE ARE
Wings of Hope Foundation has been operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1995, as an international organization that provides help to people experiencing traumatic stress. Today, we are a registered local foundation operating in Sarajevo, focused on improving social inclusion and protecting the human rights of marginalized groups. Our work encompasses psychotherapeutic support, sensitization and empowerment activities, educational programs, peacebuilding, and advocating for the rights of children, youth, and other vulnerable groups. Over more than two decades, we have built deep roots in Bosnian-Herzegovinian society and strive for continuous improvement of the communities in which we operate.

Mission
We improve social inclusion and empower women, children, youth, and other vulnerable groups, by providing support in the field of mental health, improving and protecting their rights, through education with a focus on peacebuilding in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

OUR PATH
From the first days in post-war Sarajevo to today, every step has been a conscious decision to contribute to the recovery and development of our society.
Wings of Hope began operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina, providing psychological help to people experiencing traumatic stress. In the first years of work, the organization also opened offices in Sarajevo.
The Foundation was registered as a domestic non-governmental organization in BiH, which was a crucial step in building local roots. The process of building local capacities and training domestic experts began.
The first independent Center for Psychotherapy in Sarajevo was opened at the address Dr. Mustafe Dordića 8. The Center began reforming its work as a psychotherapeutic center, in which many specialized services for various target groups are provided.
Continuation of programs including education of professionals in the areas of psychotherapy and mental health. Access and orientation towards Bosnia, with the goal of prevention and early intervention for children and youth.
Continuation of programs helping young people from various national and religious groups to overcome their differences. The SalingPoint and Erasmus+ projects emerged. Working in three countries, using new reconciliation and psychosocial profiling tools in the process of mutual integration and building veterans' leadership in providing sustainable living conditions.
An active member of 20 years of continuous work in BiH. Conferences, publications, and dispatches were organized that mapped the organizational presence and built a better vision of the organization.
Continuation of the Safe House program to protect the lives and security of families. This program addresses the ongoing problems of the Foundation's operation - focused on the most underserved social needs in BiH.
The Foundation is working on new programs, strengthening partnerships and adapting to changing circumstances - including digital challenges during the pandemic.
