UP TO 12 MONTHS OF VOLUNTEERING ABROAD

European Voluntary Service (EVS)

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

EVS – An Opportunity for Young People to Volunteer in Another European Country

The European Voluntary Service (EVS) gives young people the opportunity to volunteer abroad for up to 12 months in areas of their interest. Young people interested in EVS need to find an organization in which they will volunteer, based on an EVS accreditation, and a sending organization from the country they are coming from.

EVS activities should be aimed at benefiting the local community in the country where the EVS program is being implemented. At the same time, it is important to have a clearly defined educational goal for the volunteer.

During volunteering, the volunteer has the right to financial compensation which includes coverage of basic living expenses and language courses, and also has a mentor who helps them throughout the entire EVS experience.

ACCREDITATION SINCE SEPTEMBER 2013

Wings of Hope Foundation as an EVS Organization

Wings of Hope Foundation received accreditation for receiving and sending EVS volunteers in September 2013. During 2014 and 2015, the Foundation hosted six (6) volunteers.

They all eagerly shared their EVS experiences so that young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina could learn firsthand more about this volunteering opportunity. Of course, new volunteers bring new stories.
