ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project “Civil Society Organizations as Equal Partners in Monitoring of Public Finance” (CSOs as Equal Partners in Monitoring of Public Finance) is an initiative that brings together 10 organizations from 7 countries of Southeast Europe with the aim of improving transparency and accountability in managing public finances.
Since 2016, this project has been funded by the European Commission, working to strengthen the capacity of non-governmental organizations in monitoring the work of financial institutions, tracking accountability, and building the capacities of civil society organizations for effective monitoring of public spending.
Wings of Hope Foundation is a proud partner organization in this consortium, contributing from the perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
PROJECT GOALS
Transparency of Public Finances
Improving access to information on public finances and the spending of budget funds at all levels of government in the region.
Institutional Accountability
Strengthening accountability mechanisms of financial institutions towards citizens and civil society organizations..
Civil Society Capacities
Building the capacities of civil society organizations for professional and effective monitoring of public finances.
FUNDING
This project is funded by the European Commission within the civil society support program in the countries of the Western Balkans. The EU recognizes the key role of civil society organizations in promoting good governance, transparency, and democratic accountability.
Through this program, the European Union provides financial and technical support to organizations engaged in monitoring public finances, advocating for reforms, and informing the public on the management of public funds.
RESEARCH TOPIC
Our project covers four key areas of public finances in Southeast Europe, with detailed research and concrete recommendations.
Public Debt
Analysis of the indebtedness of countries in the region and the impact of public debt on economic development.
Tax Justice
Researching the fairness of tax systems and their impact on social equality.
Public Infrastructure
Monitoring public investment in infrastructure in Southeast Europe and the transparency of investments in the region.
Public-Private Partnerships
Analysis of public-private partnerships and their transparency in the region.
