The Wings of Hope Foundation and the Center for Ecology and Energy invite you to a presentation of the project “CSOs as Equal Partners in Monitoring Public Finance”, which aims to improve the accountability and transparency of public finances, and to strengthen the role and voice of civil society in monitoring the performance of institutions when spending public finances.
In addition to the public-private partnership, which was the topic of the first workshop, two studies have been produced within the framework of the project concerning public debt and the tax system in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will be presented during the workshop. The studies provide overviews of current trends and challenges of the tax system and public debt, and offer policy recommendations that would improve the sustainability of public finances and enable greater public participation in public finances. The central question for discussion will also be the role that civil society organisations can play in promoting greater fairness, transparency and sustainability of public finances.
Furthermore, in order to advance the work of organisations active in these fields, a call for projects was published at the beginning of October. With the aim of ensuring that organisations are as prepared as possible for applying to this call, part of the workshop will be dedicated to it.
The workshop is intended for representatives of civil society organisations, media and experts. The invitation for the event is attached.
To register for the workshop, please fill in the form no later than 17 October 2018 (Wednesday).
