In late January, Foundation Wings of Hope conducted workshops about the role of teachers in case of school violence. The workshops were held at four primary schools (PS) in Sarajevo: PS Fatima Gunić, PS Džemaludin Čaušević, PS Avdo Smailović and PS Čengič Vila I. More than 175 teachers, pedagogues and school management staff took part in the workshops.
The objectives of the organized activities were to sensitise teachers to issues related to violence and to discuss adequate, timely responses to violent behaviour of children or to the suspicions that a child was a victim of violence.
Throughout the last school year the same school staff participated in training sessions about types of violence and risk factors and learned how to recognize signs indicating that children were affected by violent behaviour.
Workshops were conducted within the project Cognitive – Behavioural Treatment Program for violent behaviour in school children. This project is supported by In Fondacija which focuses on improvement of social inclusion of children and youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
